    Default Suspect Breaks His Silence

Robert Murat, the first person to be declared an official suspect over Madeleine McCann's disappearance, last night broke his silence.
The British expat who lives with his mother Jenny Murat less than 100 metres from where the four-year-old went missing in the Portuguese village of Praia Da Luz, has been under police restrictions for five months including a ban on giving interviews.
But the property consultant spoke on camera to BBC News, with family members by his side, in a direct plea to the Portuguese Police to finally clear him of suspicion.
Mr Murat is shown speaking only briefly but it is the first time he has done so since being declared an "arguido" - or official suspect - and could.....

The parents of missing Madeleine McCann have released images of a man they believe abducted their daughter in May from a Portuguese resort.
The artist's sketches show a man with dark, greasy collar-length hair and wearing a purple or maroon top with beige trousers, carrying a child.
The images were drawn by an FBI-trained forensic artist using details from a friend of the McCanns.
The friend saw the man but did not link him to the disappearance at the time. <!-- E SF -->
Madeleine, from Rothley, Leicestershire, vanished from the family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz days before her fourth birthday.
Her parents Gerry and Kate were named as official suspects in September.
Jane Tanner was among a group of friends who dined with them on 3 May when they left Madeleine and their two other children asleep in an apartment nearby.

Ms Tanner described the man she saw as aged about 35 to 40, 5ft 6in (1.7m) tall, and of slim build.
And the child he was carrying was described as wearing the same pyjamas as Madeleine.
However, his face has been left blank as Ms Tanner was not certain about some details.
The images were commissioned by private detectives working for the McCanns, their spokesman Clarence Mitchell said.
"This is another important phase of our investigation into Madeleine's abduction and we hope that this picture will be a very important reminder to anyone who w......

LONDON—The parents of Madeleine McCann on Thursday released an artist's impression of the man they believe abducted their daughter during a family vacation in Portugal.
The sketches depict a man with shoulder-length dark hair, wearing a brown or maroon top and beige trousers walking with a pajama-clad child in his arms.
Kate and Gerry McCann reported their daughter's disappearance from their holiday apartment in Portugal's Algarve region on May 3, shortly before her fourth birthday.
The drawings are based on a description given by a friend of the McCanns who said she saw a man walking with a child on the evening Madeleine was reported missing.
Portuguese police have named Madeleine's parents and a British man, Robert Murat, as formal suspects, but have not put forth any charges. Kate and Gerry McCann, who strongly deny involvement, have returned to their home in Britain.
McCann family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the suspect in the sketches was described as southern European or Mediterranean in appearance, about 35 to 40 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and of slim build.
"This is another important phase of our investigation into Madeleine's abduction and we hope that this picture will be a very important reminder to anyone who was in the area on that night who may have seen this man," Mitchell said. .......
