Bodies found in car trunk near Toronto still unidentified

Police have been unable to identify the bodies of a woman and a child found in the trunk of a vehicle just north of Sunderland on Saturday morning.

The bodies were found about 90 kilometres northeast of Toronto after a passing motorist noticed the vehicle parked in a farmer's field, east of Ridge Road, south of Highway 7 and east of Highway 12.

Durham Regional Police were trying to retrace the woman's steps leading up to her death, and now hope an autopsy will shed some light on what killed the pair.

Police consider the deaths suspicious and the homicide unit is helping with the investigations, but no suspects are being sought at this time.
