You’d think with so many clues, we’d know who this girl was.
But we don’t.
She was found dead just minutes after being struck by a car on the Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. She had no ID on her.
According to news coverage that followed her death on April 1, 1990, there were at least two individuals who recognized the girl as “Andrea,” but they didn’t know her last name or birth date.
They recalled she mentioned being adopted, and that Virginia was her home. But despite significant efforts over the past 25 years, law enforcement has been unable to find out who she was.
Some of the clues Jane Doe left behind are unique. This is what was found with her that night:
A ring of human hair on her left pinky finger
An orange plastic hotel-like key tag imprinted with “218” in white with one gold key attached
A black rock, a leaf and a lock of human hair in her pocket
An Orange County bus route schedule for the 64 and 64A bus from Santa Ana to Seal Beach
Jane Doe had short, wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She had slight acne scarring on her face, her ears were each pierced and she had black polish on her toes.
All four wisdom teeth were missing and she had porcelain crowns on her top center four teeth.
She was found wearing a black dress, a red, long-sleeved top and a hot pink sweater. She had on black, fishnet stockings and hot pink pumps.
Investigators have chased down scores of leads, but nothing has panned out yet. Twenty-five years later and this girl still remains nameless.
