It sounded sort of shaky in the one article, and then the timeline states it more surely, and I don't see any reason why someone would use her name. I dunno.

    • Estimated Date of Death: Fall 1978-Spring 1979
    Vital Statistics

    • Estimated age: 15-30 years old
    • Approximate Height and Weight: 5’2"-5’9" (5’6"); 105-125 lbs.
    • Distinguishing Characteristics: Light brown to blonde, medium-length, straight hair. Victim was a petite white female. Fractured left 9th rib which was partially healed at midshaft.
    • Clothing: Blue, wool twill knit pants, red thread. White lace blouse. Dark blue, ribbed tank-top. Tan “Mushroom black" label jacket/shirt with zipper on right upper pocket, button down front. Sterling silver, Indian type, Turquoise, oblong Ring, with matching teardrop earrings and oblong necklace pendant. Sterling silver ring, with black Onyx stone.
    • Fingerprints: Not Available
    • Dentals: Dental Chart available.
The skull and dentition showed good dental hygiene. No evidence pf periodontal disease was noted and the posterior teeth were well aligned and not crowded. There was no direct evidence of orthodontic treatment, however it could not be ruled out. There was not evidence of maxillary or mandibular trauma or anatomical anomalies noted. The extraction of the maxillary right first molar, at some time in the teenage years of the decedent was noted. That determination was based on the partial mesial drifting of the maxillary right second molar into the area occupied by the extracted first molar. The extraction occurred approximately 3-4 years prior to death. The maxillary right third molar was impacted in the bone of the tuberosity and not visible externally. The 1979 dental examination thought that the maxillary right first and second molars had been extracted and that the remaining tooth was the third molar. This error undoubtedly occurred from the lack of a radiographic examination which would have revealed the impacted tooth.
    • DNA: Available in CODIS; on file at the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification.

    AUTOPSY SHOWS
    WOMAN DIED
    LAST OCTOBER

Duncannon/ An autopsy has revealed that the woman whose decomposed body was found near here probably died last October, but the cause of her death remains a mystery, officials said Friday.

Perry County acting Coroner Marlin Raffensperger said he is uncertain whether the woman's death was accidental or the result of foul play.

"We don't really have that much to go on to make a determination. We're hoping that through the news releases, somewhere along the line, we'll get some information to identify the individual," he said.

State Police in Duncannon said the autopsy was completed Thursday at Carlisle Hospital by Cumberland County Coroner Dr. Robert McConaghie.

Raffensperger requested the procedure after the woman's body was found Wednesday evening at the base of a 15 foot embankment off route 322 three miles west of Duncannon.

Police said the body was discovered Wednesday about 7:20 p.m. by a Perry County man collecting rocks along the highway at the Watts Twp. site.

The woman was white, 18 to 30 years old, 5 feet 4, slim, with blonde hair, police said.

She was wearing blue slacks, argyle socks, a white blouse, blue ribbed tank top and a tan windbreaker.

She also was wearing an Indian style sterling silver and turquoise necklace and earrings, an Avon silver buckle chain bracelet, silver ring with onyx and an oblong silver ring with turquoise and onyx.

Police have asked that anyone who knows of a missing woman matching the description of the victim to contact Duncannon State Police.

Police said they have dental records of the woman to aid in identification.

NEWPORT, Pa. (WHTM) - Investigators have released new images as part of their effort to identify a young woman whose skeletal remains were discovered in Perry County more than 33 years ago.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has completed a facial reconstruction that suggests what the girl may have looked like in life.
State police released a photo of the facial reconstruction on Wednesday, along with other images depicting the shoes and jewelry recovered with the victim.
The skeletal remains of the woman, estimated to be 15-30 years old, were found on June 20, 1979 down an embankment between the eastbound lanes of Route 22/322 and the Juniata River in Watts Township.
Investigators believe she had been dead for several months up to a year. They estimate that she stood around 5'6" tall, and had blonde to light brown medium length hair that may have been curly.
A healed rib fracture suggested she endured an injury earlier in life, and a dental exam revealed several silver fillings and evidence that she had an upper molar extracted during her late teenage years, police said.
She was wearing a tan, button up, long sleeve shirt with two breast pockets, one that zippered close. Underneath she wore a blue tank top with another white lace-like blouse with three-quarter length sleeves. She also had on blue twill slacks with red thread and red and green argyle knee-length socks, police said.
A pair of white shoes with buckles were also found near her body.
She was also found wearing several pieces of jewelry, including two elongated turquoise rings, a black ribbon onyx ring, an Avon brand heavy silver chain bracelet, teardrop turquoise stud earrings, and a thin chain necklace with a turquoise pendant.
Anyone with information may call Trooper Donald Chewning at 717-567-3110 or Perry County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-210-8477.
